Cameras for Yibna

Ms Sandra Hamrouni of the British Council handed over on 25 Jan a camera gift from IFY to a school serving pupils from Yibna. This camera is for children to record their lives and express their feelings through their own photographs. It is hoped that having these digital images would facilitate and encourage photo swaps with Islington children and possibly with other UK schools.

This was the second camera donated by IFY and delivered in January 2010 to Yibna for a school serving pupils from Yibna. The other one was delivered by Jeremy Corbyn MP on 16 Jan.

Jeremy Corbyn MP, who visited Gaza with an incredibly large delegation of 60 European parliamentarians also delivered a camera for the Artist Forum. In spite of the very short visit and the heavy schedule, Jeremy managed to squeeze a meeting with Yibna resident Nawal al Hourani, one of our main contacts there, to hand over the camera.
