Why does IFY want supporters to become 'members'?
· IFY would have more credibility with other organisations - such as grant-making trusts, the Council, the media, potential private patrons - if we can demonstrate that we have a large number of people who have a formal commitment to the aims of IFY;
· Remember your membership is valuable to IFY as a sign of support, even if you are not able to participate fully
· We want members to have a real impact on what the organisation does - members make recommendations about activities for IFY to undertake, will be involved in revision of the constitution, will elect the management committee;
· Annual membership fees will give IFY more money to carry out our aims;
· Members will be encouraged to decide the level of their involvement and to participate to whatever extent they are able, including occasional participation suitable to their personal interests and circumstances.
Who can become a member?
· Membership is open to all individuals who live, work or study in the Borough of Islington and who accept the aims of the association;
· The Committee may also admit to membership other individuals in appropriate circumstances. The annual membership fee is £5/£1 concessions. Please complete the online form or send to PO Box 58246, London N1 2UE.
